Regional Director of Michigan Sports & NIL

Location: Bay County/Area, Greater Lansing, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Flint, Saginaw, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo & Traverse City

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Michigan Regional Director of Sports & NIL to lead and expand our company’s impact across the state. This role is critical in helping Michigan athletes, schools, teams, and students thrive through innovative sports and NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Michigan’s sports landscape and a proven track record of leadership, development, and growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow the company’s sports and NIL initiatives across Michigan.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Michigan-based athletes, schools, teams, and organizations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support Michigan athletes in maximizing NIL opportunities.
  • Collaborate with local schools and teams to create programs that benefit student-athletes statewide.
  • Secure partnerships with Michigan brands, leagues, and sports organizations to enhance opportunities for athletes and students.
  • Advocate for athletes and teams, ensuring compliance with Michigan and national NIL regulations.
  • Represent the company at Michigan events, meetings, and conferences to promote its vision and mission.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a Michigan-based team to execute the company’s goals effectively.
  • Identify and onboard talented athletes and teams within Michigan to join NIL initiatives and programs.
  • Organize sports events, workshops, and training sessions across Michigan to foster growth and awareness.
  • Lead community outreach programs in Michigan to increase engagement in sports and NIL opportunities.
  • Monitor Michigan regional performance metrics and provide actionable insights for improvement.
  • Develop partnerships with Michigan government agencies and local organizations to secure funding and resources for sports and NIL projects.
  • Stay ahead of sports and NIL trends specific to Michigan to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Mentor young Michigan athletes to help them navigate NIL opportunities responsibly.
  • Oversee the execution of marketing campaigns to promote sports and NIL initiatives in Michigan.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in the sports industry.
  • Must be a former or current athlete, executive, or owner of a sports-related company with ties to Michigan.
  • Strong network within Michigan’s sports industry, including relationships with athletes, teams, and brands.
  • Proven ability to lead and grow sports and NIL initiatives in Michigan.
  • In-depth knowledge of NIL opportunities, regulations, and strategies relevant to Michigan.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Passion for supporting Michigan athletes, schools, and students in achieving their goals.

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana or Michigan

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive NIL strategy for either the college or high school sports sector.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with the the NCAA and other key organizations.
  • Advocate for the legal expansion of NIL rights for athletes at the state and national levels.
  • Provide guidance to athletes on personal brand development, social media growth, and maximizing NIL earnings.
  • Serve as the primary contact for athletic organizations, schools, and government bodies.
  • Manage relationships with NCAA, HBCUs, and local/state governments to push for regulatory changes that benefit athletes.
  • Foster connections between athletes and corporate sponsors, sports brands, and media outlets to create NIL opportunities.
  • Lead efforts to push legislation that further legalizes NIL at both the college and high school levels.
  • Collaborate with government agencies and policymakers to create and maintain a safe, transparent NIL environment for athletes.
  • Create programs and initiatives that help athletes grow their followers, enhance their online presence, and unlock new NIL opportunities.
  • Educate athletes on the importance of personal branding and managing their digital profiles.
  • Work with sports marketing teams to help athletes reach new levels of visibility and success.
  • Organize and participate in summits, workshops, and panels focused on NIL development, sports marketing, and athlete career growth.
Qualifications:
  • Sports, Law, or a related field.
  • Former/Current Athlete, Executive or if you own a Sports Company.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in sports management, partnerships, NIL, or a related area.
  • Must have established relationships with the NCAA.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of driving initiatives and managing high-level partnerships.
  • Former players, sports executives, or individuals who have owned a sports business are preferred.
  • Passion for advocating for athletes and ensuring their personal and financial success.
  • Must reside in Indianapolis or the Lansing area and be able to travel as needed for meetings, events, and partnership engagements.
