Head of MAC Relations & Sports
Location: Ohio or Michigan (Must be able to travel)
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced leader with a deep understanding of the sports industry and strong connections within the Big Ten Conference. This role is ideal for a former or current professional athlete, a senior executive at a MAC-affiliated organization, or the owner of a successful sports company in the region. The Head of MAC Relations & Sports will drive strategic partnerships, expand our influence in sports, and lead key initiatives focused on athlete management, NIL marketing, and program development.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain relationships with MAC schools, conference leadership, and current/former athletes.
Secure licensing agreements for logos, promotional products, and media access.
Collaborate with sports organizations, brands, and media networks to promote the company’s interests in the MAC.
Develop and manage a comprehensive NIL fund to support athletes and schools in the MAC.
Oversee athlete branding and NIL marketing campaigns for maximum exposure and impact.
Recruit and manage athletes within our agency, offering tailored marketing, management, and design services.
Lead the creation of athlete-branded merchandise and oversee marketing campaigns with athlete partnerships.
Represent the company at key MAC events, conferences, and industry meetings.
Manage Directors of Relations & Sports across all MAC schools to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Develop and implement internship and job training programs for students pursuing careers in sports.
Advocate for the creation of a sports union that supports athletes’ rights and well-being.
Work with investors, brands, and corporate partners to secure funding and sponsorships to support growth.
Create innovative strategies to expand services to athletes, teams, and schools within the MAC.
Identify and negotiate partnerships with sports leagues, brands, and media outlets to drive visibility and engagement.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in the sports industry as a professional athlete, senior executive, or sports company owner.
Relationships: Proven connections with the Big Ten Conference, its member schools, and influential stakeholders in sports.
Expertise: In-depth knowledge of NIL marketing and athlete management, including licensing, sponsorships, and compliance.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage large-scale initiatives, and work collaboratively across departments.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to attend meetings, events, and engagements across Big Ten locations.
SALARY: $450K to $750K+, Plus Ownership & Stock opportunities!!
