Head of Sports & NIL

Location: Remote in Iowa

We are seeking a driven and experienced Head of Iowa Sports & NIL to lead and expand our company’s impact across the assigned region. This role is crucial in supporting athletes, schools, teams, and organizations by driving innovative sports and NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the sports landscape, exceptional leadership experience, and a passion for empowering athletes. Candidates must be current or former athletes, executives, or owners of sports-related companies.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow the company’s sports and NIL initiatives within the assigned region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with athletes, schools, teams, and organizations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support athletes in maximizing NIL opportunities.
  • Collaborate with schools and teams to create programs that benefit student-athletes.
  • Secure partnerships with brands, leagues, and sports organizations to enhance opportunities for athletes and students.
  • Advocate for athletes and teams, ensuring compliance with regional and national NIL regulations.
  • Represent the company at events, meetings, and conferences to promote its vision and mission.
  • Identify and onboard talented athletes and teams to join NIL initiatives and programs.
  • Create and oversee community outreach programs to increase awareness and engagement in sports and NIL opportunities.
  • Analyze and report on the performance of regional initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead efforts to organize sports events, workshops, and training sessions in collaboration with schools and teams.
  • Mentor and guide young athletes in understanding and navigating NIL opportunities responsibly.
  • Work with marketing teams to design promotional campaigns for regional NIL and sports programs.
  • Develop partnerships with government and local organizations to secure funding and resources for sports and NIL projects.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to keep the company ahead in the sports and NIL space.
  • Recruit, train, and manage regional teams to execute the company’s goals effectively.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusivity in sports across the region.
  • Raise $10M in funding for the Sports Department.
  • Obtain merchandise and media licenses for schools to create custom merchandise and stream games, including sideline passes.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in the sports industry.
  • Must be a current or former athlete, executive, or owner of a sports-related company.
  • Strong network within the sports industry, including relationships with athletes, teams, and brands.
  • Proven ability to lead and grow initiatives in the sports sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of NIL opportunities, regulations, and strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Passion for supporting athletes, schools, and students in achieving their goals.
SALARY: $450K to $750K

We are looking for a passionate and results-driven Director of University of Iowa Relations & Sports to strengthen partnerships and develop innovative sports and NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) programs for the school. This role requires an experienced leader with a deep understanding of the school’s culture, athletic programs, and the surrounding community. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with student-athletes, faculty, alumni, and local organizations to maximize opportunities for the school’s athletic and academic growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and University of Iowa, fostering a strong relationship with the athletic department, administration, and student body.
  • Manage and grow sports and NIL initiatives that align with the school’s goals and values.
  • Develop programs that empower student-athletes to maximize NIL opportunities while maintaining compliance with NCAA, regional, and school-specific regulations.
  • Collaborate with coaches, athletic staff, and faculty to create initiatives that benefit student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally.
  • Identify and secure sponsorships and partnerships with local and national brands to support school athletics and NIL programs.
  • Advocate for student-athletes and teams by creating awareness about NIL opportunities and offering guidance on navigating them responsibly.
  • Organize events, workshops, and training sessions for student-athletes, focusing on NIL education, personal branding, and career development.
  • Work with marketing teams to design promotional campaigns that highlight University of Iowa’s sports programs and athletes.
